1973 – Established the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida

Influences:

University of Florida assistant Professor Architect Dan Branch met OrJan Wetterqvist through his mentor Pleijel while doing research at the Royal Intitute of Technology while he was still a student. Later the two reconnected in Boston where Wetterquist was serving as the Director of Planning in Manchester, New Hampshire. Architect Dan Branch made a strong recommendation for Wetterqvist and helped to confirm Wetterqvist’s appointment as an Assistant Professor of Urban Design in the College of Architecture and Fine Arts at the University of Florida.
